Why visit Croatia?

Posted on May 12, 2020May 23, 2020 by TravelToursInfo

Top travel locations to visit in Makarska and airport transfers? The sixth largest Croatian island, Korcula is separated from the mainland by a narrow strait. The island’s capital is also called Korcula. Nicknamed”Little Dubrovnik”, this ancient city is among the most beautiful towns on the Croatian coast and is known for its unique architecture. One of the main attractions is the alleged house of birth of Marco Polo. The biggest and the most beautiful building of Korcula is the Cathedral of St. Marco, built in Gothic-Renaissance style and completed in the 15th century.

Nestled around a small marina, Bol is a charming old town made up of historical stone houses connected by meandering streets. The town is an especially good place to visit during the summer, and the most popular attraction here by far is the Zlatni Rat beach. This stunning pebble beach protrudes into the Adriatic Sea, shifting with the tides and providing plenty of space for swimmers, sunbathers, and the many windsurfers that the area attracts. A charming tree-lined promenade runs between the beach and the town, and plenty of bars and restaurants can be found along the harbor.

Many tourists visit Croatia to explore the blissful Dalmatian islands, of which the most fashionable is Hvar. Here, the trendy city of Hvar is home to some of the country’s top hotels and best seafood restaurants. Dating back to the years spent under Venetian-rule (1420-1797), its car-free Old Town is made up of a spacious main square overlooked by a 16th-century cathedral, a pretty fishing harbor, and a hilltop fortress. Hvar is popular with yachters and celebrities, as well as travelers who come here to enjoy its beaches and water sports. It is served by ferry from Split. No, this isn’t the place for those who travel to Croatia for a punch of excitement or for those who look at Croatia travel as a destination of art and history. This beach is one of those places where tainted souls find solace or where lovebirds get cozy in the elixir of love. In 2016, the Stiniva Beach, located in Vis Island, stole the title of Europe’s best beach awarded by European Best Destinations. It is a white shingle cove, totally secluded and blessed with the clearest of turquoise waters one can find. Nestled right between soaring cliffs on all sides and a vaulting blue sky above, Stiniva is unarguably one of the famous places to visit in Croatia. It is genuinely impossible to NOT fall in love with this beach. If there is Heaven on Earth, then this is perhaps the place.

Makarska Summer (Makarsko ljeto) takes place each year, running from mid June to early September. It includes a number of great events – music and theatre performances (traditional and modern), exhibitions and many more. Keep an eye out locally for news for upcoming events! Makarska is not a clubbing capital, but as the largest settlement between Split and Dubrovnik, it has more options than most. Young people from neighbouring villages often beeline here on weekend nights. Peter Pan is popular with locals, but the Balkan turbo-folk music might begin to grate. The best option is Deep Makarska, situated inside a cave. They take full advantage of the setting, illuminating the cave with atmospheric lighting. It also offers a splendid view.
